INTRODUCING OUR FIRST RECORDING
RAY ROBERTS: DEMO #1 - NOV 17, 2017
VIDEO LENGTH | 50 MIN
Rolling hills and oak trees offer an excellent opportunity to see and develop patterns in a landscape painting. This demo was created on location via a wifi connection with a video conferencing app, a cell phone, and a laptop. Artist, Mark Daniel Nelson, hosted this live presentation while Ray painted, taught and answered questions with his internet audience. These recordings are a bit raw with spontaneity and fun. The resolution is not top quality because of the conditions in which these videos were recorded. We were at the mercy of the strength of our wifi signal and often times we were in remote locations. This is why we can get away with offering our recordings at such a low price. Regardless of the challenging conditions, these videos offer up valuable lessons. I hope you enjoy them as much as we enjoyed creating them.

RAY ROBERTS: SERIES #2 DEMO #2
JAN 12, 2017
VIDEO LENGTH | approx 45 MIN
Ray did a beautiful foggy-morning demonstration on the beach. He spoke about the persistent desire to create tension and balance in his compositions. Here was a great example of taking a placid scene and making it rhythmic and energetic while maintaining a sense of place, feeling, and romance. I find this quite the challenge, to create a bit of drama, but still convey a quiet, serene and dreamlike scene. Ray made a conscious decision to push the sky darker, to push the difference in the spectral highlight in the water.

PEGGI KROLL ROBERTS: SERIES #1 DEMO #2 DEC 12, 2017
VIDEO LENGTH | approx 60 MIN
Peggi decided to paint a still life of a stick of butter on a plate and added a splash of red by adding a napkin to the composition. The focus of this lesson was on "applying paint." Peggi gets a lot of questions on "how to use" gouache. Here, she emphasizes trying things out. Included in this video are images of 2 other paintings she did as a warm-up for this demo, along with a slide show of some of her latest gouache paintings. A Q & A with her internet audience followed the demo.
